Text: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine(teaching)...for instruction in rigtheousness.” 2 Tim 3:16

Every enlisted soldier goes through a training to become equipped to go to war. An untrained soldier will be self-destructive in the war front. For a professional soldier training is a life time thing. For example Australian Army Soldiers receive some of the best military training in the world. There are a number of stages to their training; first, they’ll complete Basic
Training and learn the foundational skills of a soldier. After this they will progress to initial

employment training, which will qualify them for their chosen profession within the Army.
From there they will begin their work within an Army unit, but will continue to train and learn throughout their career. This is how important training is to a soldier.

There is a spiritual training required for every believer to function in the highest calling that God has called us into. The scriptures actually called us soldiers of Christ. Answering the alter call is not enough to function at this highest level of calling. The word of God is the principal instruction manual for our training. The more we interact with the word of God the more our lives are equipped to function as believers.

Training in the word will include the following:

1. Knowing the word of God

2. Keeping the word in our hearts.

3. Declaring the word with our mouths.

4. Living by the word.

5. Doing exactly what the word says.

These are not things we do for a short period of time. It’s a life time process. Most organisations are always sending their staff for constant trainings to get them suited for their assignments. I want to encourage you to pursue every available means of knowing the word and getting equipped by it.

CONFESSION:

The word of God is training me to function in my highest calling as a believer. I know how to handle life by the word of God.
