Amber Rose expecting her first child with fiance Wiz Khalifa
Amber Rose is pregnant with her first child, it has been reported.
The model and her rapper fiancé Wiz Khalifa did not plan the alleged pregnancy but are reportedly delighted to have a little one on the way.
It has also emerged that the engaged couple may tie the knot sooner than they originally intended to. Congratulations to them!

Forty-eight-year-old Ayoola Olajide is living well with sickle cell anaemia (SS). Olajide, the Editor of African Sickle Cell News and World Report, and author of Menace In My Blood- my affliction with sickle cell anaemia is married to a woman with the AA genotype (without the SS trait) and they have three boys (AS, without anaemia but are carriers). Olajide, a journalist, is on a crusade to address the genetic disorder through aggressive public enlightenment. Olajide said he is living well with the virus. He said Nigerians with sickle cell could live well into old age if they have the right information and others could avoid having children with the condition by making the right choices.
Governor Okorocha of Imo State Bans Monarchs from speaking English at public forums
ANY Imo State monarch, who speaks English in any public forum in the state, risks losing his traditional stool. This was the directive given by governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha last week in Owerri while inaugurating the state’s Imo Traditional Rulers Parliament and Community Government Council.The governor insisted that the native language and traditions must not be allowed to go into extinction, adding that the parliament would afford the monarchs opportunity to deal sincerely and creditably with the issue of customary cases and matters in their various domains according to the rule of law.

Two traveling
angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was
rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion’s guest room. Instead
the angles were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel
asked why, the older angel replied…”Things are not always what they seem”.
The next night the
pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and
his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angles
sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest. When the sun came
up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their
only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.
Horror: Family of Five Die After Eating Amala(Yam Flour) in Ondo State
Bolorunduro village in Ondo State was thrown into mourning last Wednesday when a family of five died after eating amala (yam flour). The names of the deceased were given as Michael Onoja,56; his wife, Comfort 42, Monday, 24; Patience, 21; and the eight-year-old grandchild, Joy Odoh. A police source told our correspondent that when Onoja returned from his farm on the fateful day, he instructed his daughter, Patience, to prepare amala for the family to eat.

Spanish magazine puts Michelle Obama's head on a portrait of topless slave
A Spanish magazine landed themselves in the middle of a racial controversy over a Photoshopped picture of First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover of their latest issue.
The picture has places Mrs Obama's face in a 1800 portrait of a slave with an exposed breast.
The editors may have had a different message in mind given the historical context of the particular painting, but that sentiment was overlooked by online viewers who found the composite offensive and racist.
The portrait in question was initially released 1800, when French artist Marie-Guillemine Benoist exhibited the painting, titled Portrait D'Une Négresse, at the Louvre's annual salon.
It was viewed as a inspiring image because the country had abolished slavery six years prior, and the portrait was thought of as an inspiring symbol of both women's and black people's rights.
In keeping with the true meaning, the accompanying article translates to 'Michelle Granddaughter of a Slave, Lady of America'. Both Mrs Obama's great-great grandfather and great-great-great grandmother were slaves.
Not sure the first lady will be pleased!

Dr Phil's vintage '57 Chevy convertible stolen from repair shop
Television psychologist Dr. Phil has become a victim of crime after learning that his vintage '57 Chevy convertible car was stolen from a repair shop in Los Angeles late last night.
The car was tolled to a repair shop in Burbank after it refused to start yesterday.
But the feel-good shrink and author, who celebrated his 9th year on the Dr. Phil show, learnt today that thieves had smashed through a roll-up door at the garage according to TMZ.
The stolen car, which is worth $100,000 and is black with a red leather interior, has been reported to local law enforcement.

Senate orders CBN to suspend N5000 Note
The Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Bassey Otu (PDP- Cross River) issued the directive while speaking to newsmen in Abuja. Otu noted that the re-denomination of currency required the approval of the National Assembly, warning that the CBN must avoid sending the wrong signals to stakeholders in the economy.
He said it was vital for the CBN to discuss the implications of the currency re-denomination with the Senate before it was implemented.I believe that a project of this nature requires parliamentary approval because there are numerous fiscal implications on the entire economy.
The CBN must be very careful in order not to send the wrong signal to the domestic sector and external partners that the Nigerian currency is valueless.So, we are sending a letter to them (CBN) to stop all further actions on this until the Senate of the Federal Republic is properly briefed he said.
He warned that the conversion of some denominations into coins would lead to a waste of public funds as the previous exercise did not yield the desired result. In 2005, the CBN undertook a major currency restructuring to re-coin some denominations which ran into billions of naira. It did not work at all because both the goldsmiths and the blacksmiths converted the coins to moulding bangles, earrings and so on,'' he added.
The Committee chairman said there were other mechanisms available to the apex bank to tackle the problem of inflation other than the re-nomination of the nation’s currency.
K Solo and Wife says the beating was all an ACT

In a shocking interview with Channels TV,producer and singer, K Solo has admitted that all the issues reported to the media by his wife was just acting.
He said they never had any marital issues but were just playing pranks."I'm a showbiz person,if i don't do singing,I do acting".According to him,it made him know his friends and enemies.

'Money can buy many things': Usher's ex Tameka Raymond blasts him on Twitter after she loses custody of her children
Tameka Foster Raymond is speaking out about her bitter custody battle with ex-husband Usher Raymond.
On Friday, after the singer won primary custody of the former couple's two sons, Tameka, 41, took to Twitter to express her disappointment.
She wrote: 'Money can buy many things... But in the end. Truth & goodness will prevail. I must continue to believe this. Stand firm.'
Usher, 33, was awarded primary care of four-year-old Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, three, after a ruling by a Georgia judge.
It comes just weeks after Tameka's 11-year-old son Kile - from a previous relationship - tragically died following a freak jet ski accident last month.

The Police on Thursday arraigned one Chima Eke, 26, of Tudun Wada in Lugbe, Abuja, before an Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating up his mother. The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Jeremiah Elijah, told the court that the case was reported at the Lugbe Police Station by Mrs Lovina Eke of the same address on Aug. 19.
Elijah said that the accused came home only to discover that his mother had not cooked food for the day.
The prosecutor said the development infuriated the accused and he resorted to beating up his mother, an offence which contravened the provisions of section 265 of the Penal Code.He said that during police investigations, the complainant pleaded with the police to assist her enforce the relocation of the accused to his father’s residence at Suleja in Niger.The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Counsel to the accused, Mr Okwudili Nwator, asked for Eke’s bail based on the provisions of section 340(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code and section 36 (5) of the 1999 Constitution. Senior Magistrate, Aliu Shafa, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with a surety in like sum who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court. The magistrate adjourned the case to Sept. 4 for further hearing.

Handel Omekanneji was recently arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for ingesting 88 wraps of cocaine. The discovery was made by officials of the National Dug Law Enforcement Agency during the inward screening of passengers on an Iberia Airline flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Four suspects arraigned in court for Cynthia's murder
Four suspects were arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate Court on Monday [Aug 27] for killing a former army general's daughter, Cynthia Osokogu. The suspects, Okwumo Nwabufo, 33; Ezike Olisaeloka, 23; Orji Osita, 32; and Maduakor Chukwunonso, 25, are facing trial on an eight-count charge of felony, conspiracy, robbery and murder.
Their charge sheet stated that the suspects killed the deceased by administering her with 'Rohypnol Flunitrapezam’, binding, torturing, and strangling her. It also stated that the suspects, along with some others at large, raped and robbed the deceased of valuables that included an International passport, a mobile phone, shoes, bags, wristwatches and jewellery.
Nigerian Immigration Arrest 13 Chinese prostitutes
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Friday [Aug 24] in Abuja paraded 13 Chinese nationals who were arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution in the country. NIS spokesman, Joachim Olumba, said the suspects were apprehended in Lagos following a tip off from an informant.
He said the service received a report on the activities of some Chinese nationals who connived with some Nigerians to traffic teenage girls into the country under the pretext of offering them jobs in factories. A distress call from one of the victims prompted the immigration service to carry out a raid on some operational locations of some of the syndicates.

The Word
I have decided to
add some spice to my blog. Every day i will share a word from the bible, some
of us including my humble self don’t open our bibles except on Sundays. we
need the word of GOD to survive just the same way we need food and water. In Jeremiah 23:23 God says his word is like fire and like
hammer that breaks rocks in pieces, which means that for every challenge we
face in life, God’s word is the solution, but we don’t know this because we don’t
study the word. We need to know our rights in Christ; the bible says we are destroyed
for lack of knowledge. So this is for those of us that don’t open our bibles
till Sunday, we can now read it on our laptops and phones. This is me bringing the word to your door
step, and for those of you that will take out time to read and meditate on the
word, you shall see a turnaround in your life…. In Jesus Name Amen!

Frozen Foods Truck falls on Taxi
Mr Benjamin Ademuyiwa the taxi driver and his passenger had every reason to thank God when a truck carrying frozen foods lost control after one of his front tyres burst crashes into their taxi along airport road. Mr Benjamin said he never saw it coming,as he relaxes in the vehicle waiting for his passenger who had gone to use an ATM.

Lagos Ocean Surge: Six dead, more still missing
A violent ocean surge yesterday killed 6 people in Lagos including a six year old girl. So far, 3 more bodies have been recovered. The ocean surge reportedly swooped on the inhabitants of the shanties in the early hours of the day when they were still indoors.
Governor Fashola has ordered the immediate demolition of structures at the beach and relocation of residents who stay in the illegal shacks around the beach.

But in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, due to be broadcast in the U.S. tonight, the Bajan beauty says Brown 'made a mistake' and 'needed help' adding that she misses him. As the most decorated Olympian of all time, it was only a matter of time before Michael Phelps landed a major fashion endorsement.
But in posing for the Louis Vuitton campaign images that surfaced on Twitter on August 13, 2012, the U.S. Olympic swimmer may be stripped of his medals, four gold and two silver, from the London 2012 Games.
According to Rule 40, a regulation introduced by the International Olympic Committee earlier this year, no athlete was able to participate in non-Olympic marketing campaigns from July 18 to August 15, 2012.If the photographs were in fact due for release on August 16 and a rogue individual had simply leaked them, Mr Phelps will be in the clear. But if the photos were in fact leaked intentionally by the brand, the sporting hero will face punishment.
The French fashion house said after the two photos, snapped by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, had leaked that they were in fact unofficial images and were stolen from the company.
Mr Phelps' management team have also denied releasing the images.

Cannibal Clifford Orji dies in Prison
Clifford Orji, do you remember him? He was arrested in February 1999 by the police under the bridge at Toyota Bus Stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos after passers-by noticed his strange activities under the bridge. Items found on him at the time of his arrest was a cheque for the sum of N88,000, a cell phone, women underwear and fresh and roast human flesh and bones.
He had roasted one of his victims at the time and eaten part of her flesh. The police believed Clifford was mad at the time he was arrested but there was a theory back then that his madness was fake; that ritualists put him under that bridge to act like he was mad, find victims, kill them and sell their body parts to them. Thus the cheque that was found on him. His arrest in 1999 was widely celebrated in the media.
He has finally died after 13 years in prison, Clifford Orji, who went completely mad in prison, died on Friday August 17th in his sleep. He was 46 years old.
