Priest: We are gathered here today to join these two in holy matrimony but first - let me take a selfie..

Vicar Paul Frost interrupted the ceremony of bride Emma Scarborough and groom Jamie to take the photograph using a selfie stick and is believed to be the first vicar to perform the stunt

A bride and groom were stunned by their priest, after he suddenly paused their wedding ceremony to snap a selfie. 26-yr-old bride, Emma Scarborough, said she had just joined the groom, Jamie Scarborough, at the altar when the priest, Paul Frost, announced 'first, let me take a selfie.'

He then pulled out a selfie stick to the amazement of the congregation and took a photo of the wedding party. Paul who pastors St John's Anglican Church in Corby, Northamptonshire, is thought to be the first ever vicar to use a selfie stick at a wedding. The stunned bride said : "I was walking down the aisle and I got to the end and the vicar started speaking to us. "He said 'We are gathered here today to join these two in holy matrimony but first - let me take a selfie'.

"He was such a cool vicar and it made it such a lovely atmosphere.' "When I looked back at the photo it was so nice. It was so lovely to have a photo with him. "We've got lots of photos of our day, but this one is extra special."
