MTN staff abducted in Lagos, kidnappers demand N70m ransom
Nigeria’s largest telecommunications company, MTN, has disclosed a member of its staff has been kidnapped in Lagos, with the kidnappers having already demanded a ransom of N70 million.
According to the company, the victim is 44-year-old Yemi Owadokun, was abducted on his way to work in the early hours of Thursday at Ologunfe junction, Awoyaya in Lagos.
When contacted on the latest incidence, an officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Elemoro division, confirmed the incident and assured newsmen the force is currently carrying out investigations.
He however recommended an independent body take over the investigation to reveal the kidnappers and free the MTN staff.
