From one diva to the next: Mariah Carey replaces Jennifer Lopez as American Idol's new judge

 

It was confirmed today that the 42-year-old singer would be joining the judging panel for Season 12.

According to the Entertainment Weekly, her salary is said to be between $12 - $17m. Jennifer was paid $12m during her first season of the show and $15m this year.

Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said in a statement today that the network was thrilled to have the songstress on the team.
