PSquare's late Mum to be buried next month

The Okoye family have released the burial arrangements for their mother Mrs Josephine Okoye, the family released a statement saying that the body, which is currently in a Lagos private mortuary, will be laid to rest in her husband’s house at Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State on Thursday, August 2, 2012.

Shortly before the burial, there will be a lying-in-state in Umunachi, Umudioka Village, Anambra State, and a church service at St.. Gabriel Catholic Church, before the proper burial at Ifite-Dunu, which will also be the reception venue.

Mrs. Okoye died around 11PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, about five hours after a heart surgery in Apollo Hospital, India.

The family has disclosed that she suffered from diabetes.

Prophet TB Joshua, the founder and general overseer of the Synagogue Church, Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, has expressed profound shock over the death of the late president of Ghana, Prof. John Atta Mills, who died on Monday.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP exclusively at his Ikotun Synagogue Church yesterday, Pastor Joshua pointed out that he was indeed very sad at the death of the Ghanaian president, saying he did not receive any revelation concerning the death, otherwise he would have intensified more prayers to avert his demise.

Dakore Egbuson returns to Nollywood in new movie:Journey to Self

Popular actress, Dakore Akande (nee Egbuson) is set to make a return to nollywood, with a role in a new movie titled Journey To Self. The movie is being directed by Tope Oshin Ogun (Tinsel), and it also features Kalu Ikeagwu, Nse Ikpe Etim, Ashionye Ugboh-Racah, Femi Jacobs, Toyin Sido, and Catherine Edoho.

Following her marriage in January 2011 to Olumide Akande, it had been speculated that Dakore would quit acting. However, with her appearance in Journey To Self, it appears she is not quite ready to call it quits with acting.

Fashola Assures Youth Corpers of adequate security

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has assured corps members posted to the state that adequate security to counter any unwarranted insurgence had been put in place.

He said this at the closing ceremony of 2012 NYSC batch ‘B’ Orientation Camp at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

NUPENG Begins Strike Today!

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has threatened to embark on an indefinite strike over the failure of the federal government to pay subsidy for imported petroleum products and the poor state of the country’ refineries among other issues.

The group disclosed this at a media briefing addressed by its national president, Achese Igwe, in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the NUPENG president said the union will begin its planned strike today in sympathy with their members sacked on Wednesday by the MRS Oil and Gas Plc.

Mr Igwe said the strike will continue until the MRS management reinstates the sacked drivers.

He said: “Despite the promises and understanding reached between the union and the management of MRS, the company still went ahead to sack our members, about 2,500 tanker drivers.

“The action of the company is not acceptable to us as a union.”

He said the strike would be restricted to the Lagos zone, which includes Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, Osun and Kwara States.

Other parts of the country depend on this area for supply of fuel; therefore, it would be more like a national strike.

Mr Achese said that other parts of the country might join the strike in sympathy and solidarity.

 The 46-year-old isn't known for his gentle disposition but Mike Tyson showed he also has a soft side while taking a stroll with his third wife Lakiha Spicer in New York. He was very affectionate with his other half and the pair held hands as they walked along. 

The heavyweight has also been married three times and has eight children with several different women. Tyson and Lakiha tied the knot in a small Las Vegas wedding ceremony on June 6, 2009.

Lakiha is the mother of two of Tyson’s children – daughter Milan and son Morocco.

I am quitting Nollywood:Emeka Ike

Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, has said he’s leaving Nollywood temporarily to strategies. Speaking to an Encomium reporter exclusively the actor said:

“I have not quit Nollywood in the real sense of the word. What I did was to withdraw all my movies from the market, and I mean all the movies that are related with Emeka Ike…and the reason is not far fetched. I am angry with what is going on in the industry. My conscience would not allow me to go on with the decay in the industry. So, I feel that was the best thing to do, to dissociate myself from the problem and stand out! So, henceforth, any Nollywood movie would not involve Emeka Ike. Rather, I want to market all my movies on the label of Emeka Ike Production. If you want to deal with me as an actor, you have to work with me under the label. That clearly separates me from Nollywood.

Michael Jackson's family drama has been playing out in the media since last week. First his mother Katherine was said to have suffered a mini stroke,then she was declared missing,she was later found to be in Arizona with one of her daughters.

Michael siblings Randy,Janet,Rebbie and Jermaine tried to abduct his children from their home,and they are also said to be behind a plot to overthrow Michael's will and the executors of his $500m estate, John Branca and John McClain.

Katherine Jackson's guardianship of her three grandchildren has just been suspended following a court hearing.

temporary custody of the trio. TJ, the son of Michael's brother Tito, will now get access to funds from the $500m estate in order to care for the children, who are said to be in favour of him being their temporary guardian.

Meet the first Indian woman to pose nude in Playboy!

Bollywood actress Sherlyn Chopra, 28, will be the first Indian woman to appear nude in Playboy.

Sherlyn will star in the magazine's November issue after she wrote to Playboy expressing her interest in featuring in an issue. 

Speaking to BBC Hindi, she revealed she did not want to 'miss the opportunity' of posing nude in the famous adult magazine.

The actress, who has played a number of roles in Bollywood films, said: 'It is not an easy task to be nude in front of the camera and look good at the same time.'

Her appearance in the magazine is likely to prove controversial in India.

Playboy is banned in the country.

But despite the possibly difficulties she may face, Ms Chopra is proud of what she has done.

'I have become the first Indian to pose naked for Playboy and nobody can take away that achievement from me,' she said.

Jennifer Hudson brother-in-law who killed three of her family members gets THREE life terms in prison

The man convicted of gunning down the mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew of singer and Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson has been sentenced to three life terms in prison. William Balfour who was married to Jennifer’s sister Julia was said to have made alleged threats before the murders. Julia who testified against her ex said he has threatened to kill her and her family members if she ever leaves him.

They have only been dating for a few months but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be set to walk down the aisle.

According to Radar online .com,Kim is apparently very close to receiving a proposal as Kanye West is said to be currently designing a ring.

Kanye has reportedly asked a private jeweller to craft a piece for his girlfriend using diamonds and rubies from his late mother Donda's personal collection as he wants to propose when her divorce to Humphries is finalised.

Breaking news:Ghanaian President John Atta Mill is dead

Ghana's President John Atta Mills is dead. Ghana Television announced that he died today at 37 Military hospital in Accra he was 68yrs. The cause of death was not mentioned but Mr Mills has been ill for a while. His office also released a statement to Reuters announcing his death. 

Vice President John Mahama has been sworn in as the new President.

May his soul rest in perfect peace...amen.
