Shakira is still pregnant
Yesterday, the internet was ablaze with reports that Shakira
had welcomed a son with partner Gerard Piqué after he Tweeted the 'happy news'
in Spanish.
'Ya ha nacido nuestro hijo! Estamos muy felices! Gracias a
todos por vuestros mensajes!,' wrote the Barcelona soccer ace. In English, that
translates as: 'Our son was born! We're very happy! Thank you all for your
messages.'
But a source confirmed to E! News that the Twitter prank was
simply Gerard taking part in Dia de los Inocentes, which is the Spanish
equivalent of April Fool's Day, they also confirmed it with her spokesperson.
Gerard seemed to confess his joke just hours after the
initial posting.
However, later on Thursday, the 25-year-old wrote: 'It has a
name! His name is Innocent! Happy Holy Innocents Day to all!' Shakira, 35, herself did not comment.
Only days before Christmas, Shakira was pictured looking
heavily pregnant shopping for gifts in Barcelona.
Fire in my home a minor incident- Obasanjo
Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has described the fire at his Abeokuta home on Thursday as a minor one which only affected the office of his Personal Assistant.
Obasanjo, who was not at home at the time, was not sure of the cause of the incident, telling the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), “It may have been some electrical problem.”
NAN quoted him as saying of the incident, “Ile Obasanjo to jo e wa lo bu si,’’ which means, “The fire incident will only add beauty to Obasanjo's house.”
Observers say that as one of Nigeria’s wealthiest men, Obasanjo clearly meant that he will take the opportunity to upgrade the quality of the edifice.
