Goldie's cause of death revealed
According to sources from Reddington hospital, where Goldie died last night, the likely cause of her sudden death is pulmonary embolism.
According to an article on the New York Times website, “Life-threatening blood clots and flying have been linked for more than 50 years, but a new study of business travelers confirms the risk, particularly for those who take long flights or fly frequently.

A 27-year-old woman, Mary Sunday, has been in the hospital bed at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital seven months after she was allegedly attacked by her fiance, Corporal Isaac Gbanwuan, with a pot of boiling stew and a lighted stove.
It was learnt that Sunday had lost her ears due to the attack.
Before the attack, which took place in August 2012, Sunday, was to report for training at the Police Academy, Kano as a cadet officer.
Still nursing severe burns to her neck, chest and upper arms, Sunday can barely sit or walk straight. She holds her head stiffly and talks with difficulty as she recalled the events that led to her present state to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday.
Delta state Governor names stadium after Keshi
Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan has named the Asaba stadium after Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi who hails from his state. A reception was held for the players after their victory at the just concluded Nations Cup at the Asaba international event center in Delta State. Keshi was also given N8m cash and a duplex in the state capital.
His assistants, Daniel Amokachi, Sylavnus Okpalla, and Ike Shorunmu receive N4m each. Each player got N2.5m each, while old and present players of Warri Wolves such as, Sunday Mba, Chigozie Agbim, Azuibike Egweke and Brown Ideye got N5m each.
Very sad news, singer Goldie is dead
I'm in shock. Singer Goldie has passed on. Goldie died last night at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. Goldie just came back from the US yesterday, and was so full of life. The cause of Goldie's death is still not certain, but multiple sources at the hospital confirmed that she slumped shortly after she returned from Los Angeles where she attended the just concluded Grammy Awards and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead few mins later.
Her corpse has been deposited at the morgue in Ikeja General Hospital. This was around 2am this morning. Her music label boss, Kenny, D1, ID Ogungbe, Denrele, Karen, Uti and Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwere were all present at the scene.

Super Eagles win AFCON 2013
The Super Eagles of Nigeria this evening defeated Stallions of Burkina Faso 1-0 at the National Stadium in Johannesburg to win the 29th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by South Africa.
Goal from Sunday Mba in the 39th minute saw Nigeria lift the coveted prize.
Nobody gave this team any chance but they went all the way to win the cup.

After a long period of suffering with renal failure, James was told that he needed a kidney transplant
Melissa happened to be a perfect match.
'There wasn't any reservation, or never did I fathom the ideal I wouldn't be,' she said. 'That's the funny part. I never thought, 'Oh, what if I don't match?' I just assumed I would.'
James said that to have his wife be a suitable donor was nothing short of a miracle.

The pair will go into surgery Monday where Melissa's kidney will be transplanted to James at Florida Hospital.
'Melissa is making the rest of us look bad,' said Dr. Giridhar Vedula, a multi-organ transplant surgeon. 'Most of us buy an expensive box of candy and call it a day, but this girl is just something phenomenal.'

Governor Suntai can neither talk nor see- Umar, Taraba State acting Governor
Contrary to a recent media speculation that the ailing Taraba State Governor, Alhaji Danbaba Suntai had fully recovered and had been discharged from the hospital in Germany, the state Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar has denied the report, saying that Suntai’s state of health has deteriorated.
According to him, the governor who has been in a German hospital since November receiving treatment due to injuries he sustained when a small aircraft, Cessna 208, he was piloting crash-landed about 30 miles to the Yola airport in Adamawa State can neither talk nor see.
