POWERFUL PRAYER

Text: And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”Rom 8:27

A powerful prayer does not depend on how long we pray; it does not depend on how loud we pray or how fast we shake our heads. It depends so much on how much of the will of God is found in our prayer.

The best way to pray expressly the will of God is to pray in the Spirit. The Spirit of God helps our weaknesses in prayer to pray acceptable and result oriented prayers. This happens as we pray in the Spirit on a regular and consistent basis. A powerful prayer is simply a prayer that produces results and guarantees answers.

The power content of our prayer is also determined by how much of the word of God is found in our prayer. Our human words are not sufficient to communicate to a holy God and so the best way to communicate with God is to get hold of his word and say it back to him in prayer. The basis of faith and prayer is the word of God. Word-empty prayers are usually dry. This implies that we must be filled with the word of God on an issue we are praying about (Col 3:16).

Prayer also becomes powerful when we understand that we are praying to a powerful God. Even if you think your prayer is not “powerful” enough just realize that the powerful God hears you. God is more willing to answer than we are eager to pray. No matter how weak you are you can pray a powerful prayer because the powerful God is hearing you. His ears are not too heavy to hear you. We don’t have to depend on others to do the praying for us. By ourselves we can pray to receive answers.

THANKSGIVING:

Thank you Lord for answers to prayer every time we pray. Thank you for the unlimited access we have into the throne of grace.
