According to police in India, Chand Miyan pictured above was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his young daughter because her scarf fell off her head.
According to the police investigation, Miyan advocated for women to cover their hair and he became extremely angry whenever he saw a woman with an uncovered head.
Miyan saw his daughter without a head covering and yelled at her. When she said that the scarf slipped off her head, he began beating her.
The mother of the girl begged neighbors for help, but they were afraid of Miyan. Miyan was arrested by police as he was digging his daughter's grave.
He was charged with one count of murder.
