Rihanna and Drake lead MTV VMA nominations with five nominations each!



Rihanna and Drake are leading the way at this year's MTV VMA awards, with five nominations each.

As the nominations were officially announced this morning, it was revealed that Rihanna is nominated in categories including Video of The Year, in which she has two chances to win with We Found Love and her Drake duet Take Care, as well as Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.

Other strong contenders include Katy Perry, who was last year's big winner, who received four nominations.

The show will air live from Los Angeles on September 7th, and will feature a performance from four-time VMA winner Alicia Keys.  The show will also feature a performance from One Direction, who are up for Best Pop Video for What Makes You Beautiful.
